Oklahoma Lieutenant Governor Jari Askins will deliver the keynote address at OSU-Oklahoma City Spring 2009 Commencement, 7 p.m. May 11 at the Cox Convention Center.

OSU-OKC spring commencement will boast more than 645 graduates from the fall 2008, and spring and summer 2009 semesters. For the first time in its history, OSU-OKC will be awarding bachelor’s degrees. Six students are scheduled to receive their Bachelor of Technology degree in Emergency Responder Administration. All graduating students will receive a free one-year membership to OSU Alumni Association. Students are encouraged to sign up for their free year with the OSU-OKC Alumni Office, Student Center, first floor.

Lt. Gov. Askins has served Oklahoma in all three branches of the government including becoming the first woman Democratic Leader of the Oklahoma House of Representatives and serving as a judge for eight years. She was also the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board chairman and a legal counsel in the governor’s office.
