Orion Juniors achieved Club Mark accreditation in 2005 and has strong links with England Athletics, 

County Athletics Boards and  Local Schools. 

Orion is a member of PESSCL which is the nationally recognised school-club link.

Orion Juniors has been established for 25 years and with 230 junior members we believe it to be the premier athletics club in the Borough. 

Encouragingly this is an increasing membership which has doubled in the last 4 years, with some 60 new members joining in the last 12 months alone. 

The age group is 8-20, male and female. Orion is an inclusive organisation that accepts and encourages children of all abilities and backgrounds.

Orion is run on a purely voluntary basis and raises funds through

 England Athletics and the Jack Petchey Foundation and other relevant authorities.

 Orion also fund raises through community fundraising such as presentations and in particular the Orion Pentathlon Day which is an open event that encourages young athletes to compete in various disciplines that they would not have tried before.

All coaches at Orion are fully qualified and have coached Orion athletes to

 numerous National, County and Borough championships.

 Orion also has a strong tradition of encouraging junior coaches at age 14+ who become mentors to the youngest athletes.

Orion prides itself in encouraging its athletes through the difficult transition from junior to senior athletics and has a strong history of keeping athletes in training/competition at over 17 level which is traditionally an age where many athletes drop out.

Many Orion athletes are role models in their school environment and many of our new members have come through this association as well as through our strong links with local schools. 

Orion hosts the Orion Schools Invitation in which 20 local schools compete as well asthe Waltham Forest Primary and Secondary Schools championships.

Membership renewal forms can be collected from the club now on training days  or click the links below to download both forms:  MembershipForm1.pdf  MembershipForm2.pdf  There has been an increase in membership subscription for 2007-2008,  Under 10 years of age is £10 and all other junior age groups is £15. Your subscription can't be excepted without your renewal membership forms  so I would new both together please.   One of the major reasons for the increase in membership fees is that from now on all members  over the age of 11 will have to be registered to England Athletics  (this includes seniors as well) at a cost of £5 per member. We have however compared Orion's fee's against other athletic clubs and  Orion still remains one of the cheapest clubs to belong to and in some cases by a long way. FEES : Over 11  years of age £15.00

Under 11 years of age  £10.00 An Orion Harrier Junior is someone whose Parent or Guardian has completed  an application/renewal form and has paid the annual subscription.

No membership=no training

 until the membership has been collected.
