Family Career and Community Leaders of America is a dynamic and effective career and technical student organization that helps young men and women become leaders in their schools and communities. By participating in FCCLA, members address important personal, family, work and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences Education.
Involvement in FCCLA offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life: planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision making and interpersonal communication - all necessary in the home, workplace and community. However FCCLA is much more than that.
Participation in FCCLA programs provides opportunities for students to meet the Oregon graduation requirements: 1) participation in essential skills, 2) career related learning standards and 3) extended application. By participating in FCCLA, students gain knowledge and skills in academic and career and technical studies and apply what they learn in practical situations. Students are better prepared for success after high school whether they choose to continue their education or enter the work force.
