Collectively Run * Volunteer-based * Repair Shop * Building St John's Bike Culture
Become a Winter Sustainer! Ordinary Spokes; you know us as the St. John's bike collective and community repair shop. Perhaps you have been to our new downtown storefront location. Since the move, our community usage has sky-rocketed, making our shop the go-to destination for people wishing to repair their own bike. We sell at extremely accessible prices refurbished bikes that have been donated to us (in many cases saving them from the landfill). However, as the weather turns cold, it should come as no surprise that not only do we have the same expenses as during the warmer months, but sell fewer bikes – our main source of income - with which to meet them. This is why we're reaching out to you, our friends and supporters! With just a small monthly donation, you will help sustain our awesome bike shop and the services we provide on a year-round basis. Officially speaking we -Ordinary Spokes- are a collective of volunteers that runs Newfoundland's first and only community-oriented bicycle repair shop and resource centre. As a not-for-profit organization, since 2009 we have and continue to promote cycling as a means of transportation in St. John's. We have organized four hugely successful Alleycat races, run educational workshops, and brought accessible bike repair to outlying neighbourhoods with our mobile repair station; all with the goal of building bike culture in St. John's. If you're ready to support us with a quarter year sustainership of just $30 email us at ordinaryspokes@gmail.com Grants received from: and
