SENIORS
STEPS TO TAKE IN YOUR COLLEGE SELECTION

Step 1: Visit the colleges you think you may want to attend 
  • Contact the admissions office at least two weeks in advance to schedule a campus visit
  • Visit while school is in session
  • Prepare a list of questions to ask 
Step 2:  Narrow your college selection
  • Compare your top colleges based on academics, size, location, career preparation, internships and social climate
Step 3: Apply for admission to your top 3-4 schools before their priority deadlines.  Most colleges will require:
  • The application  and an application fee
  • Official high school transcripts
  • ACT scores for 4 year colleges and Universities
  • ASSET scores for 2 year community colleges
Step 4: Complete scholarship applications
  • Type all scholarship applications
  • Have someone proof read your essays and resume
Scholarships and Loans for Ord High School Graduates

FRANK J. NOVAK AND JOE E. NOVAK SCHOLARSHIP  - These scholarship are to be provided for graduates of Ord High School with a preference given to residents of Valley County  for college tuition, college room and board, books, or college fees at any accredited college, university, school or trade school.  Maximum amount of the scholarship shall be $5000 in any one year. You may stop in or call the High School office for an application.  Applications are due April 15, 2009. 

JOHNSON STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP AND LOAN FOUNDATION - The Johnson Student Scholarship and Loan Foundation provides loans to Valley County residents for tuition and books at any college, university, school or trade school located in the State of Nebraska.  Exceptions shall apply for Theology students who are entering the seminary and for students entering other fields of study not available in Nebraska.  Theology students shall receive a scholarship instead of a loan.  In the event a theology student drops out of school, the scholarship shall convert to a loan and repayment shall be required.  Maximum amount of the loan shall be $2,500 in any one year.  You may stop in or call the High School office for an application.  Applications are due April 15, 2009.
