Instructor Pilot Projects
If you are an instructor interested in trying Second Life in your curriculum, please fill out this pilot request form  to seek funds and support for your idea from the OCCDLA.
 Perhaps you are an instructor who  would like to try Second Life in their class, but don't have a specific idea for a project? We have lots of volunteer opportunities to get involved with- or you can come up with a completely unique idea- talk to us! We're happy to help you get started.

Flora Zone Project
OR Community Colleges Island has been divided into 6 development zones that reflect our state ecology. Our chief Botanist Avatar AppleAnn Finkle (PCC Instructor April Ann Fong) has generated a list of five indigenous flora types that can be found in each zone. Volunteer groups will receive training on how to create a plant in Second Life, choose a zone and plant type, and go out into the Oregon landscape to visually harvest plants to bring into Second Life for our island.  If you would like to get involved in the island flora project, please contact avatar Ruby Sol (Paula Ascher of CGCC) who is currently coordinating this project.

Island Build Project
We've reserved the west side of our island for meeting and information spaces, and the east side for project development spaces. On the west side, we're always looking for building and scripting help- even if you don't currently have skills, there are plenty of opportunities to learn with guided support. Please contact MonicaMarlo Martinek or Regulus Darkstone for a current list of build development projects needing assistance.

Project Orbs
Glowing Red Project orbs have been placed throughout the island landscape, wherever there is a task that needs completion. If you stumble across one of these and are interested in the project listed, please contact MonicaMarlo Martinek to get on board! :)

A PDF Printable short map and guide to the island, maybe a map on one side, land use explanations on the other?
How do we display text directly on a prim? - a schedule prim like at Tui would be awesome!
