Mission Statement The Oquirrh Hills Middle School Counseling Center is committed to being an
advocate for all students. We provide direct services to students
through responsive services (individual and group counseling),
classroom guidance lessons, and individual planning through the SEOP
process. It is our goal to assist students in feeling academically and
socially successful while here at Oquirrh Hills Middle School. Process of Delivery Various methods of delivery are employed through Oquirrh Hills Middle School's Comprehensive Counseling and Guidance Program (CCGP) to ensure that all students are reached. Four components have been identified as fundamental elements of the CCGP by the Utah State Model. * Guidance Curriculum * Individual Planning (SEOP Process) * Responsive Services * System Support http://www.schools.utah.gov/cte/guidance.html The percentage of time allocated for each of these four components may vary according to student and school needs. At least 80% of a counselor's time should be spent in direct services to students. Guidance Curriculum, Individual Planning, and Responsive Services are all ways counselors provide direct services to students. The remaining 20% of a counselor's time should be spent in System Support (the planning and running of the CCGP).
