NOTE, the app will temporarily be unusable because when migrating to the "new Google Sites", the way files are served has changed. This means the app cannot find the files it uses to determine how to make the audio files. We will work on a fix and in the meantime, please feel free to email extremewing@gmail.com to help motivate us to make the updates. Let us know how you use the app and if we should make it work for new OpenTx versions too!
OpenTX Speech is an app for Android that creates OpenTX sound packs using your choice of Android TTS voice and language.
It should work for most OpenTX releases and is free on the Google Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adrionics.android.opentx.speech
For more information, please see the OpenTX Speech thread on RCGroups here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2501837#post32692207
Quick start: From within the Android app, select the options and press the "Generate Sound Pack" button.
Sound files are created on the SD card in a folder called:
"SDCARD/OpenTXSpeech/[opentx-version]/[android-tts-language]/"
Copy the files and folder(s) found within this folder to the radio.
User Defined Lists
Select the TTS language, then select "User Defined Lists" and it will create an example csv file in the "OpenTXSpeech" folder.
The format for these files is as follows:
One phrase or word definition per line in one of the following two formats:
a)
SOUND/FILE/PATH;filename.wav;Phrase or words
b)
filename.wav;Phrase or words
You can create multiple csv files that contain different lists. Just name the files as you like. (with a .csv extension)
Where to put the files on the radio
If you are in doubt about where the files need to go on the radio, please consult the OpenTX reference for your particular radio or post on the RCGroups thread.
