For First Generation College Students....
Open Doors to your future through higher education. The object of this scholarship is to provide $1,000 to a student who meet the following criteria. You are eligible if you... are a first generation college student have a grade point average of 2.3 or above are a student of the Bremerton School District including Renaissance will graduate in the year 2010 will be attending Olympic College for the first time in the Fall of 2010 have participated in some form of service to your family or greater community

Regulations: Scholarship will be in the amount of $1,000, will be paid directly to Olympic College, and will follow the guidelines of Olympic College for dispensation of scholarship funds to the recipient. Recipients must attend class in the fall of 2010 at Olympic College for at least 10 days in order to receive the scholarship funds. Deadline for scholarship application: Tuesday, March 31, 2009
Judging: The purpose of this scholarship is to open doors for students who want to attend college and need the resources that will enable them to “get a foot in the door” in order to pursue higher education. The students who we are looking for demonstrate financial need, can articulate their future goals, are committed to pursuing continuing education, and contribute to society as a whole or to their family (This can range from volunteering in a nursing home or hospital to holding down a job, or contributing to the well-being of your family.) All scholarship application forms and essays will be evaluated by a committee and candidates receiving top scores will schedule an interview with the committee in April. The scholarship will be announced at the end of April.
