4.1 Faith

Faith in compromise

<Cesar> Open architecture is a definition in the making, this is why it require first
hand informations. We are starting to explore what are the conditions for an open
architecture to exist, the context, the external forces that apply on the concept.
My initial intuition was that open architecture was likely to be produced by open
minds. If that’s the case, then I must be able to identify such intellectual settings.
During the research I discovered that an open mind has the capacity to observe
the world as one coherent ensemble. This open mind is also able to articulate
the complexity of the world with all its contradictions and incoherences with the
blinding and enlightening help of faith.
Faith implies the confidence in the existence of several absolutes (void, infinity,
good, evil etc) that artificially create numerous virgin territories. The fabrication
of these virgin territories does not match with modern sciences and the practicali-
ties of reality : absolute spaces remain impenetrable. To develop the concept of
open architecture, the faith space is too absolute and does not traditionally offer
the complexity and renewal experimental sciences allows.</Cesar>
