Born 1985, Tokyo. Hiromi Ozaki (Sputniko!) was an equation of an English mother and a Japanese father who are both university mathematics professors. Hiromi also studied Mathematics and Computer Science at Imperial College, London.

Since 2007 Sputniko! has produced music, films and electronic devices exploring themes such as transhumanism, vengeful cyborgs and open-sourced boyfriends. She has performed worldwide with the likes of Japanese pop legends Shonen Knife and Damo Suzuki(ex-Can vocalist), and has provided music for MTV Networks International.

In 2009 Sputniko! released the 1st dvd album Parakonpe 3000(360 °records), a collection of films which discuss the quirky ways in which we engage with technology – such as google searching your crush’s name or desiring to become a cyborg to eliminate periods. In 2009 Hiromi released another dvd album: Earth, even though it sounds unfamiliar to us as Android Music, an audiovisual project with artist and film composer Taro Nijikama.

In May 2009 Open_Sailing, an project in collaboration with partner Cesar Harada received the Next Idea voestalpine Art and Technology Grant from Ars Electronica. Together with Cesar, Hiromi has been invited to lecture and hold workshops at MIT Media Lab, MIT Design Lab, the Barbican Gallery, Carnegie Mellon University and Art & Architecture London.
