29.7.2011 We just got back from the USA! It was super fun. This site has fallen by the way side. Apologies. Love Nathan xxx 1.2.2011 What with me being a full time student, working part time, and generally trying to have a life outside of those things, it's become increasingly difficult for me to keep our numerous websites updated. Myspace was always shite, but now is shite and unusable. Sorry for the lack of info online. Oh well, we're still here and we're still playing shows. We have a few coming up, check our facebook page for details. Also, you can now listen to our music on bandcamp and spotify, if you feel like it. Love Nathan x 14.1o.2010

Sorry for the lack of updates! I've been crazy busy with uni stuff and I still haven't shown Daniel how this website works (plus I'm not really that sure myself). You can now get Dissatisfactions from amazon if you are so inclined. Search for it. It's on there! We're putting on a show this week in Durham. 6th Oct- Head of Steam, Durham (with FASHANU, OFFSHORE RADIO and RVIVR) And we're playing with THE ARTERIES in Sunderland on the 14th (more details soon) at the Independent. Does anyone read this website? Who knows. Oh yeah, our collective is starting up our vegan cafe again at the end of this month at a new venue. Check this poster: Come along and have some vegan cup cakes. If you happen to be one of the masses of new people arriving in Durham right about now, and you'd like an escape from the excruciatingly vapid existence of the average Durham student, come along to this and find out what a Durham accent sounds like. Love Nathan xxx PS: If you are reading between now (5pm) and 7pm tonight (Sunday 3rd October 2010) ANDREW JACKSON JIHAD and KEPI GHOULIE will be playing at our house tonight. Email nathanisacynic AT gmail DOT com for the address! Or look on facebook! 9.7.2010 Friends!
Our new 10 track CD 'Dissatisfactions' is out now (pretty much). It costs £5 or $5.
We are having a 'launch' show in Durham on 31st July with every sensible person's favourite band GOOD LUCK.
Here's a poster for that, inspired by the Hufflepuff coat of arms:
come to the show!
buy a cd!
up the (huffle)punx!
Nice one,
Nathan

PS: 'Dissatisfactions' will also be coming out on tape fairly soon thanks to Harry of 'Something Honest to Dance To'!

Hello!
We had an amazing time on tour with IMPERIAL CAN and FASHANU! It was class. We also got to stop by and shove our voices on the new CALVINBALL recordings when we were in Sheffield which was a privilege. Our new album is almost finished. It seems like it's taken ages, but really, it's only taken a few days. It's just those days have been spread out quite far from one another. So with any luck our new album will be out in the not too distant future. It's going to be called 'DISSATISFACTIONS' and it has 10 songs on it (8 new ones, and 2 ones you might have heard before). We're going to try and let people know about this one too, rather than simply hoping people read our minds like we did with our last album.

Hello you, Here's what's going on with us, for anyone who might be interested. Next week we're starting to record our second album, which will hopefully be released later this year. We're going on tour in April with IMPERIAL CAN (from the USA) and FASHANU (from up the road). The dates can be found on our myspace page. That is all, Nathan xxx
9.12.2009 Things have been a little quiet of late. We're back to both being in full-time education and it has limited our ability to get around somewhat. We are writing lots of new songs though, and hopefully we'll be recording them over the course of the next few months. We've got a feeling that this could be our 'breakthrough' release. You know, like MTV and BBC and WWE and stuff. Just you wait. xxx

We just got back from a UK tour with our friends Apologies, I Have None and Calvinball. It was such an amazing time, and we're really grateful to those lads (on tour) for taking us along for the ride; it was an honour to share a stage with 2 such incredible bands for 9 days running. We're also grateful to the promoters (specifically Jack, Lil, Frank, Kev, May, Bruce, Dave, Deeker, The Music for Lovers Crew, Ash at the Fishtank and the countless other people who helped at the shows) who fed us, put us on and put us up for the night, and we're grateful to JC Horse for acting as merch man for all 3 bands. We're also grateful to anyone who came to any of the shows and watched us play with an open mind. Loads of thanks.
We have a few shows coming up supporting Spoonboy (from Washington, DC). Here are the dates we're playing: 30th August- Durham House Show (45a Sunderland Road) 31st August- Newcastle (Ouseburn Regeneration Centre) 1st September- Bradford (1 in 12 Club) 2nd September- Sheffield (Stockroom) 3rd September- Leamington Spa (Robin's Well) Please come along to one of the shows if you can. I think that's all for now.
Loads of thanks, Nathan and Daniel xxx

22.5.2009 Our new 7", a split with GHOST MICE (from the planet Earth), is out now. It's got two songs by us and three songs by them. You can hear one of our songs on our myspace page and one of their songs on their myspace page. It's out on DISCOUNT HORSE RECORDS and you should be able to order it from them very soon/now.
27.1.2009 Oh Hell, it's an update. We got our arses bitten by the ONSIND curse again, I can't really explain how yet, but it involves theft, thoughtless Durham university students, terrible pressing plants and greedy insurance companies. Jeez, my brain hurts just mentioning it. Anyway, it's not all doom and gloom, there are some good things going on. This Saturday we're going to be recording two new songs, which will eventually be going on a new split 7" that we're doing. We're well excited about it, and we'll tell you who the other band is soon enough; ONSIND curse permitting, it should be ready by winter 2018 (or spring 2009 depending on how optimistic you are). What else? Well we don't have many gigs lined up, so if you want us to play feel free to get in touch. We're hoping to get out and about a bit more in the coming months, and maybe even do a little tour in April (perhaps). So watch this space, or something. Love Nathan xxx
4.11.2008 Our album is officially out now! It costs £4 and it has 10 songs on it. Michael ‘Short Term Sex Death’ Bridgewater recorded it all for us, and it has some really cool artwork by some really cool people too (Ryan Woods, Jenny Rohde, Joe Towns, Fiona Murray). It’s called Dworkin’s Bastards. You can buy it from us at gigs, or from Discount Horse. Support the scene! Eat your greens! I put a couple of songs from it onto our myspace page. It will be up for free download as soon as I can be arsed to put it up, so keep checking back if you can’t afford to buy it from us, or don’t like us enough to actually pay for it (but like us enough to pinch our intellectual property). Seriously though, please do buy it if you can afford to, it’s a very costly business getting things ‘pressed’ in ‘factories’, and we could do with making at least a little bit back (especially given that Daniel is a poor student, and I’m seemingly unemployable). By the way, if anyone who knows anyone in the North East who might employ me, please get in touch. That’s about it. Contact Discount Horse if you want to buy one (either via myspace or email) or alternatively, come to a gig. Love
Nathan and Daniel

10.7.2008 Hello everyone, since the last update I have graduated from university and moved back in with my parents, so I thought I'd post an update of sorts. We have officially finished recording our album. We still need to get the artwork together and tweak a few little bits here and there, but as soon as we do we're sending it off to get made, hopefully so we'll have them in time for going to Germany. Speaking of which, we are heading back to Germany in September for a 10 day tour. Some of the dates still haven't been confirmed so please get in touch if you think you can help us out - nathanisacynic@gmail.com Our split 7" with Short Term Effect is now available from Denovali, which is pretty cool. We have a few shows coming up, (including a couple with Ghost Mice), you can find out where on our Myspace page. Hope everyone is doing well, Love Nathan xxx PS: We cropped up in a Snakepit strip recently, which is seriously fucking mint.
29.4.2008 Our 7" split with Short Term Effect is out now, and is available from Discount Horse Records. It costs £3.50 (which I realize is a lot of money for 2 songs on an obsolete analogue format, sorry!). Our most sincere gratitude must be paid to Tom Linnington, without whom the vinyl would have been destroyed by people in suits. We have a couple of pretty great gigs coming up, one of them is with Party Garbage from Texas, who are ace, and another is with Tackleberry from Germany, who are our brothers. I have also been asked to plug this: (Featuring: Short Term Effect, Tripdash, The Steady Boys, Speeding Bee, Gimpfist, ONSIND and many more) That's it for now. Hope everyone is doing OK. Peace Nathan xxx
12.2.2008 When I looked up the date for this news bulletin I realized it's only like a month til I have to hand in my dissertation! Oh Shit. In other news, come to Mike Park/Sundowner on the 1st March at Van Mildert. Also, we might have some vinyl or something soon. We'll keep you up-to-date (if you can call one bulletin every 4 months 'up-to-date'). It's not exactly easy you know, being me. Fuck! Nathan xxx
29.9.2007. If you want to download our demo you can do so for free by clicking HERE. If you want to buy a real one they are cheap, but running out fast. Get one off JC at Discount Horse by clicking HERE. In other news, we're off to Germany in a couple of weeks, so that's pretty cool. We'll hopefully finnish recording for the split soonish, then we can try and sell them to you. Peace. ONSIND x
5.08.2007. We officially have a website which is not owned by Rupert Murdoch! Hooray! It's owned by google who are perhaps slightly less of an evil corporation. This site is very much under construction so be patient, it will be worth the wait (perhaps). Peace Nathan and Daniel x |
