In this workshop, we will travel all over the World Wide Web, looking at various tools and ideas for sharing online, inquiry-based projects with your students. This will remain a stable page, so feel free to revisit it as often as you wish in your project planning.

Work Session Two: Exploring the ToolsIn house options for building webquests The absolute simplest: Create a word document with the information you want your students to explore, save it to the "shared" drive on your school server and direct students to it. If you save it as a template, they will not be able to overwrite it. A little more complicated: Build a webquest in Moodle. It is well designed for webquests. Quick and Easy Online Options: GoogleSites A great place to start! Edublogs or PBWiki Or any other blog/wiki site where you have an account. More Complex Online Options: ZWebQuest (also has teacher created current WebQuests-- a new site to me, so I am not sure about the quality of them.) Work Session Three: Extras!These online tools can spice up your online learning projects. Or, they can be used in any class to enhance learning.
VoiceThread A collaborative, multimedia slideshow which allows students to listen to and speak about images, webpages, topics, etc.
SurveyMonkey Online survey tool. Quia Online quizzes. Annual fee, but our school has an account. TeacherTube The YouTube for teachers. ePals Safe, secure site for student email projects. Even does foreign language translation!
Glogster A multimedia extravanganza for student project publishing. Note: the /edu at the end of the address is important-- Glogster itself is a teen angst-ridden publishing locale.
