We are learning about the Water Planet in Science. We are finishing up the section on the solar system where we've been learning about the planets, sun, and gravity. Students will
- Recognize the sun as a star, learn its composition, and understand its role in the solar system.
- Identify the plantets and other bodies in the solar system and determine similarities and differences between them.
- Learn how the pulling force of gravity keeps solar-system bodies in their orbits.
- Know the organization of the solar system, graphically.
In this unit, we will also be conducting some experiments and learning a little bit about the scientific method.
The bulk of the unit will cover how the earth's weather is related to the planet's increasing temperature and the water found on the planet.
