About the Award
The President's Volunteer Service Award is an award issued by the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation and is given by the President of the United States to individuals, families and groups who have committed themselves to volunteering. By becoming a Certifying Organization for the President's Volunteer Service Award, HSNC has joined thousands of organizations to deliver this award to its most outstanding volunteers.
Geting started
~Go to www.presidentialserviceawards.gov and click on "Track Your Hours". Follow the instructions to register.
~At the "Volunteering Home", click on the "Profile" tab. Next to "Your Record of Service Key" type in HSNC's key:

Scroll down and click on "Update Information". HSNC's contact information should appear.
Recording Hours
~At the "Volunteering Home", click on the "My Service" tab. Click on "Create New Record". Make sure to fill out all of the required information.
~The "My Service" tab also shows all of the previously recorded hours, which can be edited at any time.
Requirements
~To qualify for an award through HSNC, 80% of the recorded hours must have been performed on behalf of HSNC. The other 20% can be performed on behalf of any other organization.
~The President's Volunteer Service Award requires that hours be processed within a year.
Hours for 2009 must have been completed between November 2008 and October 2009.
The deadline is October 15th.
Awards
The yearly awards are given in three levels - bronze, silver, and gold. HSNC will verify the hours and then order a package based off of how many hours have been recorded. For more information on the awards, click here.
