No act of submission, domination, exploitation, physical trial or ordeal, including physical or mental wounding or 'sacred sex working' and prostitution will be tolerated within the practice of the FOI. Activities which are not in alignment with the principles of the FOI Manifesto are grounds to revoke FOI Priestess/Priesthood and/or FOI Membership.

We pass the threshold by igniting fires of intuition. This light of heart and spirit illumines the path - for all existences are in reality part of one cosmic spiral. To traverse these realms the soul needs wings. The necessary transformation comes to those who truly desire it. The winged soul rises, weaving through tapestries of an existence beyond darkness or death."

The Moon Goddess took over as all the men we invited were somehow blocked from coming to our full moon ceremony. Instead of a play of Osiris, we had an Oracle of the Moon Goddess and in depth revelations from each member from the depths, in the Osiris mode. Energy patterns were seen including the upraising Cobra form of the Egyptian Goddess Buto. We ourselves ascended with the divine energy of Isis. The climax was the ecstatic dance of spiritual awakening -The Hilaria.

ETHICS WITHIN THE FELLOWSHIP

The Fellowship of Isis is all about developing an inner love of the Divine Feminine and the Sacred Masculine together. There is therefore an onus of integrity and responsibility upon every individual member to uphold and adhere to the principles and ideals of the Fellowship, as set out in the Manifesto.

It has come to our attention that the Fellowship of Isis with its friendly honour for all genuine faiths has, in certain cases, become misused to validate the illegal manipulation of vulnerable members leading to inappropriate behaviour and violation of boundaries. Often first contact is made through the social media leading on to illegal spiritual, emotional and physical abuse.

All members need to know that such sacrilegious desecration of the spiritual religion of The Goddess constitutes legitimate grounds for automatic expulsion from the Fellowship of Isis. It should be remembered that no secrecy or binding vow is sanctioned in the Fellowship. Any member has the right, at any time, to seek assistance from outside authorities.

Three Castles is in one of the most ancient areas of Pre-Druidic remains. The Centre is dominated by a lofty Norman Castle, the ruins of another Castle and strangest of all, The Old Rectory where Eimear Burke & Howard Campbell live is also part of a Norman Castle, one over each other in segments.

The River Nore runs nearby, and is dedicated to The Goddess Fodhla. The land here is connected with the defeat of the Danaans by the Milesian ‘Sons of Mil’- and led to the retreat of the Danaans ‘underground’ to the psychic realm of Tír na nÓg. A Milesian Gaelic invader Eremon has his grave there on the ‘Plain of the Silver Woods', near the banks of the river. It is good to have a connection with the land to balance Arachne’s World Wide Web! - Olivia Robertson

The Sycamore Tree is said to be the “Tree of Isis”, and a beautiful young one silently presides just to the left as you enter Her Temple which has recently been created within the smallest stone tower. It is a delightful intimate space and its four walls are open to the skies beneath the green canopy of the Sycamore.

Stepping out of the doorway of this first Temple, this is just one charming wild pathway of many which wind all round the Castles and garden. Turning to the right you meet this lovely Druid Shrine. There is something of interest at every turn.

The largest sacred space of the three Castles, also open to the skies, is entered via a short flight of stone steps and through an ancient stone doorway you step down into what was clearly used at one time as a Church with narrow windows and high walls. Looking to your left as you enter, a triple branched spiral or triskele has been created on half of the floor space, and an iron gateway looks out over an ancient graveyard. This Temple has now been dedicated to the Irish Goddess of Sacred Space - ‘An Neimheadh’. This is a beautiful space for Ceremony and is enjoyed by all the members of the Grove and Lyceum.

Olivia Robertson's great nephew Alexander Durdin-Robertson, runs a year-round programme of attractive events open to the public, including guided tours of the grounds and Castle. He has invited Fellowship of Isis Central to include a link to the Castle's own website at www.huntingtoncastle.com, so that visitors may receive an overall picture of what is available at Clonegal.

The Fellowship of Isis refers to the Castle as 'Foundation Centre' or Clonegal Castle, which was its old name, for the castle is situated in the village of Clonegal on the borders of Counties Carlow and Wexford in Ireland. The castle is also known as Huntington Castle, and all general, non-FOI information is to be found under that name.

There is no change to the usual 'Invitations' system for those wishing to attend any of the eight annual seasonal festivals held by the FOI at the Castle. Requests should be sent to the Hon.Sec. of the Circle of Brigid who assists in running them. hon.sec.circleofbrigid@gmail.com

This lovely photo of Olivia Robertson was shared with us by deTraci Regula. Olivia is standing in her studio next to "the elegant Chinese bowl" (her words) in which she sometimes places her unopened mail!

Note from Caroline Wise: Here is what Olivia's mother Nora Robertson says about the bowl in her book 'Crowned Harp' (1960): "....at the auction, my mother bought a huge famille verte bowl, looted from the Imperial Palace at Pekin, which a grateful patient had given to Robert Graves. It is the only souvenir of my grandfather and it now roosts where I write." Note - this Robert Graves is the doctor who gave his name to 'Graves' disease, not the poet and novelist of 'White Goddess' fame, who was also a relative.

He published a book addressed as follows: “Dear Friends, You millions of the human race – Let us Love One Another.” He then listed all the genocidal atrocities committed by world religions. As this included Christianity, the Manning Robertson family burnt every copy save one. Olivia found this in a secret drawer as a young woman, and felt overwhelmed at being addressed in this way by her ancestor. As she rightly says, we have all been given this message many times, but somehow, sadly, we’ve never got round to it. She is honoured to finally pass on his heartfelt message: “It’s taken a long, long time,” she says, “but better late than never.” His is the central message of the Fellowship of Isis and of the Goddess.

Painting titled “Isis” by Judith Page.This painting was commissioned by Caroline Wise as a cover to an edition of “The Call of Isis” by Olivia Robertson; published for Cesara Publications by Neptune Press, London. It is listed as the 2nd revised edition published in December 1993.

Olivia’s mother, Nora Parsons, gave her the two small portraits on either side of the main picture above the Winged Isis figure. The carved fireplace is by Laurence and Olivia’s grandfather, Alexander Durdin, L.L.D., a scholar, who built up the Library.

Otto guards the castle - he lets FOI members pass!

As one descends into the Temple from the castle, through the recently painted Isis and Osiris doors, this Egyptian goddess shrine is the first shrine on the right.

Ganesh is situated by the 'Eastern' shrines towards the back entrance to the gardens by the healing chapel.

Sekhmet guards the Temple! Every inch of the temple is richly filled with goddess images and statues and plaques.

A Dakini in the Eastern section by the garden entrance to the temple, adjacent to the Chapel of Healing.

(Statue, far right) One of the Madonna statues on loan to the Temple of Isis, Clonegal by Caroline Wise, who painted an old statue from the Walsingham Shrine as a black Madonna with a red gown with gold stars. From Caroline: "Her face was originally a sickly shade of pink, unlike that of any middle Eastern woman, or any woman come to that. Her gown had been a dull pale blue. I thought that Stella Maris deserved a richer robe, we painted her to represent female fertility."

Another Walsingham Madonna, painted for Caroline by Chesca Potter as a Black Madonna with a green robe with gold stars. This one represents the Mother of the fertile Earth.

Painting of Leda and the Swan by Olivia Robertson, Temple of Isis, Foundation Centre, Clonegal Castle, Ireland. Swans nest each year at two little islets by the Castle, on the Slaney and the Derry rivers. Swans feature in quite a few of the Liturgy rites.

Beltane Blessings! Isian News for Beltane 2012 (Issue Number 144) has been published online. The cover features this beautiful painting by Olivia Robertson titled “Sophia, the Lion and the Rose.” Olivia has done a magnificent job creating the new “Reflections” article and accompanying alchemy narration and revelation in two parts. The locale for this latest installment of her book (in progress) “Athena: Arcadian Awakening” is Bohemia, a Utopia reached through Art and Nature!

Isian News is the official Fellowship of Isis newsletter. It was created by FOI Co-Founders Lawrence Durdin-Robertson and Olivia Robertson, who were the original publishers and editors. Isian News has been published quarterly since the summer of 1976.

Reminder Notice: Announcement from Olivia Robertson, dated October 11, 2011

There are those who founded teaching centres within the Fellowship of Isis before coursework, guidelines and regulations were implemented. In those years between their founding and the production of guidelines, regulations and courses, these centres have brought through others, who have founded their own centres, and in turn, teach in the same format. The question arose - are they valid? ALL training courses are valid. ALL centres have autonomy. Regulations and procedures are provided as guidelines, they are meant as suggestions. The ONLY basic requirements are teaching centres base their work on the F.O.I. Manifesto and the F.O.I. Liturgy. The Candidate using rites suggested in the coursework most helpful to his or her own chosen Path. The College of Isis being the exception, as guidelines were laid out upon the revival of the College as inspired by Isis.

“The Queen’s regulations are handrails, not handcuffs.” - General Sir Lawrence Parsons, grandfather of Lawrence Durdin-Robertson and Olivia Robertson. He burnt mounds of red tape in his day!

When members founded Lyceums, Iseums, Groves and Priories they did so in the understanding that their work, based on the F.O.I. Manifesto, had validity!

Since 1976 there have been many lists of requirements and regulations for the courses of various centres. However, the requirement for acceptance of the Manifesto is the only basic necessity to unite us all. Regulations multiply which is the usual order of Societies! As Lawrence Durdin-Robertson was wont to remind us: “In the beginning of Christianity, all members were called Saints. Now you need to have performed two miracles and to be dead to qualify!”

The time has come to be free from secrecy, binding vows and inflexible rules! Any coursework should be available to all sincere seekers. This is essential to preserve the ethical validity required by the Goddess Isis of Truth for Her Fellowship.
