Second Planning Application for Second Lap Dancing Club

posted 14 Sep 2009 11:48 by Old Market Community Association   [ updated 17 Nov 2009 01:41 ]
Note: Objections and comments can no longer be submitted for this application.
Bristol City Council Planning Committee will be deciding the outcome at a public meeting at 2pm on 15th December 2009

The owner of 42-44 West Street, Old Market, formerly Ghana Goods, has again applied for a planning permission for a change of use to open a new lap dancing club.
This is his second attempt. His first application, made in April this year, was withdrawn after the planning officer indicated that she would recommend a refusal on the grounds of loss of residential space. The new proposals address the issues raised in the planning officer's recommendation.

Unlike, licensing applications, which only people living close by can object to, anyone can object to a planning application.

Objections made to the first application will not be taken into account in deciding the outcome of this new application.

Details of the new application:

Address: 42-44 West Street St Philips Bristol BS2 0BH
Council reference: 09/03268/F
Date opened: 04/Sep/2009
Case officer: Jo Edwards
Status: Current

Description:
Change of use of ground floor from restaurant and residential accommodation at first and second floors to restaurant/wine bar (Use Classes A3/A4)  by day and a lap dancing club by night (sui generis), with two flats at second and third floor level. Rear extension at second floor level and roof level with dormer roof extensions to front and rear. Replacement shopfront.

Objections can be made online here.

Put "ref: Planning Application - 09/03268/F" in the subject line.

Objections must be on the grounds of harm to amenity. Moral arguments will be ignored.
Danger and risk, noise, traffic, over-concentration of Lap Dancing Clubs etc. may all be valid arguments.
The objection made by OMCA can be read here.
