The San Diego Old Aztecs RFC is a member of USA Rugby and competes in Senior Men’s Division II in the Southern California Rugby Union. We welcome all players with a passion for rugby, no matter your experience level.
News: The Old Aztecs prevail in Chula Vista! We defeated the St. Louis Bombers 33-19 in our Sweet 16 match up on Saturday. On Sunday we faced off against the Snake River rugby club that crushed their opponent 66-12 the day before. After an exhilarating 112 minutes of rugby, we won 34-29 in triple overtime. It was a hard fought win against a great opponent. We are excited to return to the Final 4 in Glendale for the 2nd year in a row. We will face off against the Wisconsin Rugby Club on June 3rd at 3pm MT. 2012 Season The Old Aztecs' 2012 season has begun! Practice takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm at Robb Field in Ocean Beach. It's never too late to join the club. The Old Aztecs had a bittersweet end to an exciting and memorable season. On June 4th the Old Aztecs played the defending National Champions, Tampa Krewe, in the National Championship semi-final match. The Krewe prevailed 34-25 in a back and forth match with multiple lead changes. In the Consolation game on June 5th, the Old Aztecs defeated the Fresno Rugby Club 26-15 in yet another tough match-up. The victory gave us a 14-1-1 record for the 2011 season and a 3rd place finish in the nation. Following the most successful season in club history, the Old Aztecs will be training hard this off-season in hopes of winning a National Championship in 2012.  |
