For the second weekend in succession there was no rugby at Okehampton due to the weather which saw the postponement/cancellation of all senior and junior games. The Colts did manage to get a game at Tiverton though but they were defeated 7-5.

Despite the appalling weather conditions leading to the postponement of all home games this weekend, the 2nds continued their impressive run with a 38-5 win at Crediton. The Chiefs' game against Kingsbridge has been re-scheduled for this Saturday (21 November) with the cup game at Teignmouth being put back to 2 January 2010.

Okehampton moved back up to 5th place in Western Counties (West) following a 13-3 victory over Devonport Services in Plymouth on Saturday. The win broke a run of 4 consecutive defeats and was the side's just reward for a competent performance. The 2nds had a superb 20-13 win at Oaklands over visiting Barnstaple. The 3rd team game was again called-off as the opposition couldn't raise a side and there was no game for the Colts.

The RFU is running a referee entry-level course at Okehampton RFC on 14 and 29 November. The game is desperately short of referees at both senior and junior levels so if you feel this may be for you please come forward! The costs will be met by the club, all that is asked for is your time and commitment. Please see full details on the attachment below and contact Rob Curtis if you are able to assist.

Despite a 30-14 reverse at Camborne, the Chiefs gave a performance of grit, determination and no little skill that will put them in good heart for Saturday's visit to Devonport Services. The 2nds had a fantastic 29-25 win at Ivybridge and the Colts were imperious in their 21-0 whitewash of Exmouth.

The Chiefs slipped to a 3rd consecutive defeat on Saturday as their inability to defend cost them dear as they were beaten 39 - 30 at Bude. There were also narrow home defeats for the 2nds and 3rds at Oaklands Park against Cullompton and Exeter Saracens respectively. However, a whitewash was avoided by the Colts who enjoyed a comfortable victory at Honiton.

Second successive defeat for Okes

Okehampton were beaten 28-14 at Oaklands Park on Saturday by a Wadebridge Camels side who will undoubtedly be in the hunt for promotion come the end of the season. The Okes were on the back foot for the first 20 minutes despite playing downhill and although they managed to recover to play some good, competitive rugby, Camels were good value for their win. The 2nds were also defeated, 37-3 at Brixham.
