Awards

OKADE Award Program
The Oklahoma Association for Developmental Education supports four Awards Recognition activities. The awards/recognition are for (1) two students scholarships, (2) an outstanding educator in developmental education, (3) an exemplary program in developmental education, and (4) the outstanding developmental education supporters and education programs. Please submit recommendations of individuals, groups, and organizations to the Awards Committee for recognition.

A primary focus of OKADE is to provide financial recognition to students who have achieved academic success within the developmental program. Through the scholarship program, scholarships have been awarded since 1996. Students who qualify as an Oklahoma resident and who are enrolled as full-time students are eligible to apply for one of two $500 annual scholarships. Applicants must have taken a developmental course within the past 12 months and have an overall GPA of 3.0 or better. See below to download the 2009 OKADE Scholarship Application Form and Instructions. The deadline for submitting Scholarship Applications is October 9, 2009. Scholarships are presented at OKADE's annual conference. If you have any questions regarding the OKADE Scholarship, contact Kathy Daily (kdaily@tulsacc.edu).

Also, OKADE sponsors the Showcase Award for an exemplary program and the Outstanding Developmental Educator Award. Any academic institution, any developmental education program within an institution, or any aspect of a developmental education program or student mentoring is eligible to apply for the showcase Award. The academic institution or developmental program will receive recognition at the fall conference and before the college and university presidents as well as the higher regents.
