OHIO ASSOCIATION OF ASL CLUBS' MISSION STATEMENT - created 6/20/09

1.  As a support group for leaders of American Sign Language (ASL) clubs (college and high school), we:

    (a) provide formats for starting clubs,
    (b) share ideas for club games and events,
    (c) provide group problem solving, and
    (d) give assistance through leadership (for example, a complete restart of your club)


2.  As a circle of friendship between ASL students and members of the Deaf community, we:

    (a) provide information on Deaf events open to both Deaf/HH community members as well as ASL students and professionals,
    (b) keep an updated calendar on the Ohio Association of ASL Clubs website, with links to area events and resources, and
    (c) encourage ASL students to participate in Deaf events.


3.  As a network for current and future professionals who plan to serve members of the Deaf/HH community, we:

    (a) strive to follow the culture of the Deaf community as a whole,
    (b) respect individual choices in communication, and
    (c) keep each other current on social and professional opportunities
