about us

In Fall 2007, a group of dedicated, hardworking, persevering current and former ASL students decided to enhance, embrace, and mold future American Sign Language clubs.

Honestly, we began with a "meeting of the minds and the frustrated" - where club leaders and advisors gathered and shared our successes, frustrations, ideas, hopes and goals.

What we found was that most of us had the same frustrations, ideas and goals ... but different successes.  Before that Fall day was over, the Ohio Association of ASL Clubs was founded - and we planned to meet at least once in spring, summer and fall semesters.

We continue to see turnover in the "active members" of our group, just as we have experienced that within the college clubs, too.  But our core group continues to persevere to help make new club leaders feel comfortable, confident and supported.

Our meetings are not public (and are not posted on the calendar) as they are ONLY open to former, current and (potentially) future club leaders and advisors.  those wishing to join the group can do so by clicking here.
