Smoke signal CW key

Sending smoke signals with a blanket and fire is a classic method of telecommunication. I used chimney as the smoke source and left the blanket in bed.
Signals were formed with a badminton racket. Slight modifications were needed.
Hand key style knob was recycled from an old cupboard door and screwed to the racket handle.
A piece of junk vinyl flooring prevents smoke getting through the racket net. Wooden base for the key was built as seen in the picture.
Key was placed on the chimney so that the racket closes the flue opening.

There has been no answers to my CQs yet. Smoke signal CW activity is very low in the neighborhood and my chimney is too QRP for DX contacts.
