Ski-W key
by OH6DC
If you combine skiing and CW you get ski-W. In ski-W, special cross-country skis and their
movements produce Morse code sounds. It is a traditional Finnish winter activity, invented by our hunting ancestors. A moose or bear can easily be lured by calling CQ in the snowy woods and then caught.
A pair of authentic ski-W skis. Note the stuff at the front.
On the left ski there is a black box attached with duct tape. It is an audio oscillator. The skis are connected together with an elastic waistband.
There is a switch on the left ski (click the picture to see better if necessary). When the skis are moved the switch contacts close and a sound is heard.
Both directions of ski movements are taken into use.
