Chopsticks CW key

by OH6DC

Few people know that Morse code telegraphy was in fact invented in ancient China. Between Tang and Ming dynasties there flourished a little known Keying dynasty. Special CW chopsticks were developed and used as telegraph keys. Soon CW became more popular than eating. That probably caused the decline and fall of Keying dynasty.

Before the golden age of Keying dynasty chopsticks looked like this. Good for eating but not for transmitter keying.

Reconstruction of simple CW chopsticks. Emperors of course had finer ones.
