Partnering fundamental building blocks with application of thought Essential Skills TPLC recognizes and embraces the importance of the fundamental building blocks within academic learning. Understanding and applying the basic skills knowledge within the four content areas of Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts is high priority to our staff. However, to stop there, measuring student learning with one-dimensional views does a disservice to children by not recognizing their three-dimensional strengths and gauging their upcoming educational needs. While a state assessments focus to education creates the essential content learning, the application of life skills measure the success of the entire educational process. Check out the next generation of schooling, School 2.0, about how our community can come together for better student learning opportunities. For that reason, TPLC is focused on giving students the experiences they will need to be able to thrive in their futures. Students and staff utilize rigorous online learning, supplemented with hands-on activities and real life skills building. We feel that students need to develop not only traditional literacy skills, but also digital literacy in order to be well-prepared for their futures in the 21st Century.

How to craft your own digital footprint!
Instant messaging, blogs, chat rooms, texting, social networking, virtual communities…it's enough to make your head spin. Even though you may not have much use for the latest "inventions" associated with the Internet, you still need to play an active, ongoing role in learning about them. If not, your children could be in real danger.
