Canvasing with our new Petition
WHCRTF (us) has created a petition form for use in the canvasing effort Organizing for America has suggested for this weekend. A copy of the petition is at this link.
Canvasing efforts are being organized in various parts of the county - Mamaroneck, Bedford, Pound Ridge & elsewhere. Feel free to initiate similar activities in your neighborhood. For information on these activities, contact Rachel Estroff at restroff@gmail.com.
As further group actions are planned, please take the actions YOU can. Take the fact sheet and legislative contact flyer we have created (found at this link) and distribute it in your neighborhoods - where you live, where you shop, where yo work. Always inform folk that RIGHT NOW is the moment they can have an effect on the process IF THEY CONTACT THEIR ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES and add their voices to the many pushing legislators one way or another.
The flyer has telephone contact info for NY's Federal Senators, and a link where folk can find how to contact their Congresspersons.
HERE'S ANOTHER ACTION YOU CAN TAKE RIGHT NOW: GO to the Organizing for America website, and volunteer to make phone calls to swing states, just like we did in the campaign. Here's the link:

NOW is the moment to shape Health Care Reform in America. NOW, not later. The initial legislation that will change our lives, and our economy, for good--or bad--effect, is being written NOW. There are staffers and congressmen--AND LOBBYISTS--working on the form and terms of health care reform THIS WEEK and THIS MONTH. They are trying to determine what gets included and what gets shut out or shut down. The President has asked our help in counterbalancing the agents of inertia. He's asked us to assume the power we've always had, and wield it, just as powerfully as we can.
