Open Data Access & and Intellectual Property Rights (ODAIPR)Working Group of the International Cartographic AssociationThe Open Data Access and Intellectual Property Right (ODAIPR) working group was formed in August 2007 following the ICA meeting in Moscow, Russia. During the meeting, several participants pointed out the need to establish a working group focused on providing guidance on the status of the access to data and intellectual property rights related to cartography, both through printed and digital medium. The goal of the ODAIPR working group is to foster discussion among its members on issues regarding geospatial printed and digital rights management. This web site wants to be the locus of resources for interested users and a forum for the ever evolving discussion on the topic. You can look at the Terms of Reference for a vision of the objectives of the ODAIP working group. We welcome people from any corner of the world in the hope to achieve a greater understanding and improve knowledge and practices on issues of open data access and intellectual property rights in cartography. Please participate to the online survey: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=aeSegmgy3al3qsiXUD03hw_3d_3d The summary of results will be emailed to you by end of November 2009. |
