I have been participating in the sport of boxing for thirteen consecutive years and I have been a competitive
athlete for twelve of these years. I have had 136 competitive bouts, ranging from club cards to the 2005 Junior Olympics. When I started fighting my win to lost ratio was about one to one, but those were tough times in my boxing career and now losing is a thing of the past as I have been moving up in the boxing world. I have medaled at the Canadian Nationals five times with two of these being gold medals(2005, 2010). I have also earned a bronze medal at the 2005 Junior Olympics, which was held in Brownsville, Texas and I won the 2007 Ringside World Championships in Kansas City, Missouri. During the Junior Olympics I fought the Puerto Rico and the USA National Champions and at the Ringside World Championships I fought the National Champions from Mexico and USA coming out victoriuos over them both. I am currently the Alberta Provincial C
hampion twelve times over and the Western Canadian Champion five times over.
I plan on boxing in the amateur ranks until the 2012 Olympics and then I will consider going pro. I will hopefully be on the team that is selected for this event and I hopefully will medal while I am there. This is my goal then to turn pro with the Olympics under my name, but as you know there is not much funding in the amateurs, so I ultimately need sponsors so that I have the time and funds to accomplish this dream of mine.
My Goal
The Olympics are the ultimate goal for all amateur athletes and to prepare properly is both costly and time consuming. The more time an athlete has to devote to paying bills, the less time they have to train for the time when the worlds attention is focused on them.
The concept of this portfolio is to help solicit support service groups, private businesses and corporations so that high caliber athletes like myself have the opportunity to realize their competitive goals at the highest level of competition and allow the athlete to focus all their attention on training and competition. This support is essential to help develop the elite athletes through additional training, transportation and accommodations to attend as many clubs as possible for high quality sparring, bouts, tournaments and specialized equipment. Without this support, it becomes increasingly more difficult for an athlete to reach their full potential. Other aspects that your support helps provide includes boxing equipment like boots, shorts, shirts, boxing gloves, and running shoes, also helps cover day to day expenses like groceries and living accommodations.
