History

The development of Orange Justice United began in 2006. A group of African American Ministers invited the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF) to help them build an organization with the power to affect change in Orange County. The Orange County Organizing Committee (OCOC) was assembled to bring the organization from an idea to a permanent broad based organization. Since the invitation was formulated, organizers started meeting and training hundreds of diverse local leaders and Clergy to assemble Justice United as an inter-faith, multi-racial a citizen's power organization.

History was made in 2009 when more than 450 leaders from 37 diverse institutions met with leaders from the area's public and private sector to publicly lunch the  organization.
