The members of Justice United are institutions: congregations, associations, non-profits and neighborhood organizations that share a concern for families and are rooted in traditions of faith and democracy. The responsibilities of membership are threefold:
-
To build a core team of leaders responsible for organizing within the member institutions;
-
To participate in countywide Leadership Team (decision making table made of teams from member institutions); and
-
To pay membership dues (on a sliding scale based on capacity and negotiated by each institution with the Justice United leadership)
Membership Benefits
- Representation – You will serve on Justice United Countywide Leadership Team and help decide how to change the most prominent issues impacting families in Orange County.
- Scholarships to IAF national, regional and local Leadership Training – All Justice United member institutions can send their people to 7-day National Training by the IAF (Industrial Areas Foundation).
- Tailored Services to strengthen your Institution –you get more involved in your own community and across the City/County by training your people in more than a dozen subjects (i.e relationship-building, public action, voter registration). In addition, your key leaders will receive personal mentorship from experienced organizers. The end goal is that your institution grows by being involved with us.
- Relationships – One of the keys to Justice United success is based on the time we invest in building relationships across differences. Your institution and its members will work hand-in-hand with Christians, Jews, Muslims, Whites, Blacks, Latinos, and Asian Americans – from various stages in life.
