schooling families on Okinawa, Japan. Our encouragement, help and services are offered to everyone; however, our organizational bylaws and statement of faith were written, and are governed according to scriptural principals found in the Bible.OCHEA maintains an active calendar of events throughout the year which typically includes field trips, park days, mom's night out, a monthly book club, community service and cooperative classes when available. Generally, events are for OCHEA members only. Some of the events this year were whale watching, a lego contest, a drama workshop, a science fair, standardized testing and a curriculum fair. Some of our many field trips included a glass bottom boat ride, a visit to a salt factory, the bank, an air traffic control tower, Kurashiki Dam, and cherry blossom blossom viewing. There are also several opportunities throughout the year to fellowship together at member gatherings such as the beach blast, a family retreat week-end, holiday parties, picnics and the end of the year promotion/graduation ceremony. | Our organization primarily communicates via our Yahoo group site. Email discussions typically cover information about upcoming activities, photos from recent events, discussion of homeschooling concerns, and suggestions and opportunities relating to Okinawa activities. As you consider membership in OCHEA, please review our statement of faith and by-laws. If you have any questions, please contact us. |
