DEVICE MANAGEMENT IN THE CLASSROOM
- Utopian solution
- Real case scenario
- Fair play allows you to install an app on up to five computers at one time
- This does NOT include iPods
- Unlimited ability to add to ipods means you pay once for a paid app
- How to manage this without the utopian solution?
- Color coding of ipods
- Use round colored stickers to identify ipod groups
- Place corresponding sticker on "home" computer with iTunes
- Always synch that ipod group with the "home" computer
- Won't lose apps; won't lose data, music, pictures (flash cards), etc.
- What if they bring in their own ipods?
- It gets messy and students will lose data and apps they added at home if they synch with the school computer
- Recommendation is to then only install free apps as they can use them at home or school.
