Our Mission: To serve the staff and families of Naval Hospital Jacksonville (the fourth largest hospital in Navy Medicine) and its surrounding clinics through deployment support, member mentorship, and benevolence projects. Our History: The Navy Medical Corps Officers' Wives Club of Washington, DC began at a luncheon on May 29, 1947 with the primary purpose of hosting social and benevolent activities that would benefit military families in their region. Throughout Navy Medicine, this group of military spouses quickly became known as the "Oakleaf Spouses Club." Since then, over 60 years later, Oakleaf has spread to become a worldwide network of Navy military spouses (men and women) that support one another through thick and thin. About Naval Hospital Jacksonville: Naval Hospital (NH) Jacksonville's priority is to heal our nation's heroes. Expert staff at its main hospital and five branch health clinics in Florida and Georgia do whatever it takes to deliver the highest quality care. NH Jacksonville has the unique responsibility and privilege of providing care on the home front while supporting Department of Defense operational missions abroad. At any given time, about 15 percent of its 1,500 military staff are serving in areas such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Djibouti and Cuba—providing world-class medical care.
