Oakleaf Plantation has grown tremendously in the past few years and is expected to continue. People from all over the world have visited or will be visiting the Oakleaf area for many years to come. Business owners, people who are relocating, foreigners, doctors, lawyers, teachers, laborers and many, many children! With this type of exposure, Oakleaf will benefit tremendously and the people of our community will reap the benefits! When you were growing up and for those of us who are raising children, will agree that there are certain qualities that can't always be taught in school. There are also certain qualities that cant always be taught at home, such as sportsmanship. Today as it is, I would probably be ok with saying each of us know at least a handful of people that don't know how to work with a group of people to accomplish a common goal, most of which never played an organized sport. An organized sport is a great educational tool that will teach a child sportsmanship, and will also help teach other qualities such as structure and discipline! Oakleaf Athletic Association offers many programs that will do that while having fun! The organization was started in 2005 and became recognized in 2006 as a Non-Profit Organization. The main focus is to educate our children on sportsmanship and the basic fundamentals of selected sports. Other than that, it's all about having fun and positive experiences with our children. |
