Thank you for your interest in the Oak Forest Park District's Art House program. I am Toni Ruppert, the art instructor. The Art House program is a park district art class in which young artists learn art techniques while performing service to the community. Since we started in March; · We created the t-shirt for the Oak Forest Park District dance recital. · We participated in the community kite fly in Oak Forest. · We face painted at the Oak Forest Relay for Life. · We face painted and had an art show at Oak Fest—Family Tent. Earlier in our program, we had a visit from Officer Vodnik and K-9 Orry with the Oak Forest Police Department. While Vodnik shared with us about his job on the force, my students sketched Orry. With our last art show, my students decided to raise money to supply a huge dog bone for Orry. The goal was $47 for the bone. Each student sold one or more pieces of art. Through selling their art in the last art show, our students raised $75 for Orry--the equivalent of several bones and a month supply of dog food.
