Please take some time to read the FAQs and the answers. I love this page because it gives me an opportunit to speak candidly.
Q: How do you set your pricing?
A: Since I am the owner and the DJ and do not have to pay someone to do your wedding, I'm priced less than agencies while using the same high quality equipment, if not better, than most. I admit I am not the cheapest, but the quality of the equipment and service is definitely worth the extra cost compared to bargain basement prices. Q: Will your speakers be loud enough for my hall?
A: Absolutely! The speakers I use are powerful enough for any hall. But, more important is that they are loud enough for the dance floor. Meaning, great consideration is taken in making sure your guests on the dance floor can feel the music while at the same time making sure its not too loud for your guests trying to carry on conversation, off the dance floor.
Q: What's your microphone presence like?
A: My microphone presence is very professional and appropriate for all times of the night. Meaning - upbeat for your introduction, yet a little subdued when making general announcements (cake cutting, how dinner is served) or for the father/daughter dance for example. I am never that cheezy over-the-top DJ.
Q: Will the volume be appropriate?
A: As mentioned above, great consideration is taken in making sure your guests on the dance floor can feel the music while at the same time making sure its not too loud for your guests trying to carry on conversation.
Q: Is the lighting obnoxious?
A: No, just like with the sound, there is great consideration put into the lighting to make sure it enhances the mood on the dance floor rather than annoying your non-dancing guests. Also, I no longer use strobe lighting since halls do not necessarily get dark enough any longer to provide the proper effect of strobe lighting. And, several brides/grooms asked not to use the strobes since one of their guests does not react well to strobes (causes seizures for some).
Q: Do you have fog?
A: As a matter of routine, I do not employ a fog machine due to many halls frowning upon the devices. While most current fog machines use a product that will not cause slip and falls, halls are still skeptical. However, if you prefer the use of a fog machine and the hall allows, there would only be a small charge for the rental of the machine.
Q: How do you dress?
A: I prefer to blend in by wearing a nice traditional black suit. Q: Do you have intelligent lighting?
A: I love this question because it means a DJ was trying to justify their high cost. The answer is no. Intelligent lighting is lighting that can be programmed to perform specific sequences at specific times, coordinated with the music (typically for stage productions). I do not use this category of lighting because of the great expense for the equipment and I am able to work my lighting effects to fit the different parts of songs. Bottom line, your guests will not notice the difference.
Q: How early do you arrive?
A: I arrive at least an hour and a half before guests are scheduled to arrive.
Q: Are there any extra or hidden fees?
A: Absolutely not, the price is all inclusive for your entire reception. Includes from the time arriving before guests, staying as late as you have the hall for, travel, lighting, coordinating, announcements, dinner music, everything you need from a great DJ.
Q: Do you offer discounts?
A: Yes, I offer discounts for certain times of the year, certain days of the week, promotions from bridal shows, those serving in the military, as well as our boys in blue and fire fighters.
Q: How far do you travel?
A: Virtually anywhere. I am based in Chesterfield, Macomb County, but regularly do weddings in Plymouth, White Lake, and Flint. Pretty much all of Metro Detroit and then some. I do this because for the most part, people will call DJs in their immediate area to begin with.
Q: Will you make all the announcements?
A: Absolutely, I will be your master of ceremonies and introduce all the necessary people you require through out the night, and make my wireless microphone available for their use (toasts, blessing, etc). I will take care of everthing we go over, and probably a little more.
Q: Can I pick my own music or limit music?
A: Yes, you are my boss for the night and this is YOUR wedding. It needs to be personalized to you.
Q: Will you work with my photographer and videographer?
A: Absolutely! I do not make a move without making sure your photographer and/or videographer are ready. Doesn't matter how great the music sounds or how great everything looks if the photographer and videographer miss your introduction or cake cutting or toasts or first dance or father daughter dance or bouquet toss (you get the picture).
Q: How did you come up with the name of the company?
A: That is an homage to one of my favorite movies - This is Spinal Tap. Here's the inspiration behind the name: |
