October 7, 2009 - We are pleased to announce that Jaxson Taylor, senior golfer at AFHS has been added to the staff as a team Swing Instructor and Manager. Jaxon is a four year varsity golfer, who just concluded his high school golfing career as one of the best golfers to come out of the school. Jaxson, who is weighing several college options; is a 3 time state golfer and 2 year team captain. Jaxson finished the 2009 season ranked 5th in the very competitive Region IV. His tournament average was 72. Jaxson will be assisting the coaches, especially in helping the young ladies with skill development fundamentals. Welcome Jaxson.

October 7, 2009 - The Team sponsored a successful "hands on" Golf Clinic October 6, 7. A great group of young ladies learned a lot about the great game of golf in the areas of set-up, putting, chipping, full swing, rules and etiquette.

Mon Sept 28, The Lady Cavemen came in 4th place (1 stroke out of 3rd) in the final Utah Ping Fall Golf League Match at Glenmoor Golf Club. Congrats to Hayleigh Davis and Whitney Smith.

Outlook for 2010 Season
The Ping Fall Season concluded in September. The month of October, we will hold our 2nd Annual Girls Golf Clinic (see above and flyer attached below) and more work before moratorium (dead period) November 1 through January 23. The Girls Golf start date and tryouts begin March 1, 2010. The first contest may be held on March 8, 2010. We are in the process of finalizing the schedule and golf courses we will play during the 3 month spring season.
The Lady Cavemen look to improve on their fantastic first season. They move to a newly realigned Region IV that includes Utah County neighbors Lone Peak and Pleasant Grove. Added are excellent Salt Lake Valley teams from Alta, Brighton, Hillcrest and Jordan High Schools.
The Cavers return 2 state golfers in Sr. Co-Captains Hayleigh Davis and Whitney Smith; excellent ball strikers and long drivers. Added to those leaders are varsity tested Srs. Lydia Peterson, Samantha Knight, Brooke Wilson and Jr. Tatiana Boyle. AF returns 6 Golf Letter-Winners. Sr. Stephanie Davis could also contribute to the team. Young talent includes sophomores Morgan and Maddie King and some young freshmen that could develop. Everyone of the golfers improved from March through May of last year. The team will need to continue their hard work and skill development to return to the state tournament.
