GeoMedia WebMap Publisher 6.1.4 migration hint

posted ‎‎Feb 15, 2009 4:31 PM‎‎ by Shaun Falconer

After upgrading a GeoMedia WebMap Publisher 6.0 meta-database to version 6.1.4, do the following before using 'Write Legends' for the first time:
  1. Start GeoMedia and connect to the upgraded meta-database using the GeoMedia WebMap Publisher Administrator
  2. Use 'Publish and Populate the GeoWorkspace' > 'Populate the GeoWorkspace from Metadata' tool
Each map in the meta-database will be restored to a map window in the GeoWorkspace
  3. The 'Display Order' tab for each map window should be restored correctly.
The 'Group' tab will be showing legend entries that should have been hidden.
    To correct:
    • In Display Order tab select all legend entries
    • Click on Group tab
    • any unselected entries should be hidden - select them and hide them.
  4. Use the 'Syncronized legend' button to read the updated legend.
(Do this regardless of whether you fixed up any hidden legend entries or not)
  5. Repeat for all map windows
The above steps only have to be applied once per migration. After that you can use 'Write Legend' and 'Synchronize legend'.

Note: It has just come to our attention that if a legend entry has a display scale range and is set to 'Display Off', when the legend entry is turned on by an end client the legend will be set to 'Display On' instead of 'Display by Scale'. We have just started working on this issue - if it affects you please log a support call.

Coordinate system resources for New Zealand

posted ‎‎Feb 12, 2009 2:33 PM‎‎ by Shaun Falconer   [ updated ‎‎Feb 15, 2009 4:30 PM‎‎ ]

Intergraph New Zealand has put together information and resources relating to New Zealand coordinate systems.

Background
All sites at some point in time will perform coordinate transformation from New Zealand Map Grid (NZMG) to New Zealand Transverse Mercator (NZTM) or equivelent. If coordinate systems are not correctly configured the process will result in an 150 meter error.
Updated documentation, deployment scripts and related resources are being made available by Intergraph New Zealand.

Applies to GeoMedia products, G/Technology products, ZI products, Terrashare products

Availability
The 'Coordinate system resources for New Zealand' is available from the Intergraph New Zealand support downloads page.

GeoMedia Users note: If you are using GeoMedia 6.1.4.x or 6.1.5.x there are new modifications required to the delivered autodt.ini. If the modifications are not made the 150 meter error will occur even if you have setup the canadian grid transform correctly. Please refer to the word document supplied with the resource download.

Microsoft Security Advisory (961051) - Vulnerability in Internet Explorer Could Allow Remote Code Execution

    posted ‎‎Jan 6, 2009 11:41 AM‎‎ by Shaun Falconer

    December 19, 2008
Microsoft has announced a vulnerability in Internet Explorer. The vulnerability is currently being exploited across many web sites on the internet. Since the exploits are not technically viruses, they are neither identifiable nor cleanable by antivirus vendors.

Microsoft has issued a patch and the Intergraph Quality Assurance team has successfully completed testing of the patch in combination with our products. One minor issue was identified in Mobile-TC, so if you are a Mobile-TC user please review the Intergraph Knowledge Base Article 6334 to obtain details about the workaround. You should apply the Microsoft IE patch as soon as possible. If you have any questions regarding this patch, please contact lntergraph Customer Support.

For details from Microsoft on this vulnerability and to download the patch, please click here.
