Call for Expression of Interest - Geospatial Standards Advisory Group
Here is advance notice calling for expressions of interest in membership of an Advisory Group for a project the New Zealand Geospatial Office (NZGO) is running. NZGO is part of Land Information New Zealand.
The project’s key objective is to design an option for an effective and consistent structure for the adoption, adaptation, development and maintenance of geospatial standards that promotes access and interoperability of geospatial data in New Zealand. The attached document contains the terms of reference for the advisory group and sets out more detail of the project. It is to be posted on the NZGO website shortly.
We are seeking advisory group members from the public and private sector to provide valuable sector expertise and knowledge to test practical options for government involvement in geospatial data standards creation, use and maintenance.
The group will comprise 12-15 members. There will be three meetings in Wellington in April/May. The time commitment for advisory group members is estimated at a few hours per meeting over the three meetings. The commitment should be small, as the advisory group will not be expected to produce any set document. Instead, as noted in the terms of reference attached, advisory group discussion will feed into the design of a workable structure for the adoption, adaptation, development and maintenance geospatial data standards that can be recommended to the Geospatial Executive Group for implementation.
