Mission

The NYU Microfinance Initiative (NYUMI) is a University-wide task force created to provide a forum for students, faculty, and community members to share knowledge about opportunities and developments in microfinance, raise awareness about microfinance in the New York University community, and connect with leading experts and practitioners in the field.

Led by students, the task force is supported by the Financial Access Initiative (FAI), housed at the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service.  FAI is a consortium of leading development economists focused on substantially expanding access to quality financial services for low-income individuals.

Who We Are

NYUMI is a collaborative effort of NYU students at the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service and Leonard N. Stern School of Business.

The sponsoring student groups for NYUMI at Wagner are the International Public Service Association (IPSA), and Bridge for Social Enterprise, and at Stern are the Social Enterprise Association (SEA), and Emerging Markets Association (EMA) from Stern.
