Orange County Youth Symphony Orchestra is for students who play NYSSMA level 5 with a score of 97 or higher, or level 6 with a score of 94 or higher. Symphony Orchestra Members:Rehearsals from 2:00 to 5:00 on Sundays in Monroe-Woodbury High School. *Students with lower scores may enroll in the Symphony Orchestra with approval from the OCYS directors to fill open positions. Tuition OCYS season divides into two semesters: first semester, September through December; second semester, February through May. $220 per semester. Siblings from the same family receive 10% discount for each child. Payments for first semester are due first rehearsal in September, and second semester payments are due first rehearsal in February. Optional payment plan: 4 payment of $110, one in September and one in November for first semester; one in February and one in April. There is a $15 processing fee for this payment plan. The processing fee will be added to the $105 payment in November as well as in April. As a way to help students financially, OCYS allows students to sell concert tickets and to keep all the money from their ticket sale for their OCYS tuition. Students earn $15 for each ticket they sell. Unlike other youth orchestras in the country, OCYS does not make money from concert ticket sales. Registration/Application for OCYS Membership 2011-2012. |
