The NYGH Parent Support Group was established in 1998, as a partner of the School, to undertake initiatives and provide support to the School and, in the process, benefit the students and foster strong ties and cohesiveness within the school community.
 
As parents, we have a stake in our daughters’ development into well-rounded and responsible youths. The NYGH Parent Support Group believes that by working closely with our daughters’ educators, we can help them to stretch their talent and realize their full potential. Our mission is to:
  • promote a positive partnership among parents, the school and the Alumni through interaction and organization of activities that are mutually beneficial.
  • provide opportunities for parents to volunteer, share or contribute their knowledge and time to the school for the benefit of our girls.
  • provide opportunities for parents to network and support each other.
We hope all Nanyang parents will come on board the NYGH Parent Support Group. Your contribution, be it your time, skills, contacts and/or financial support, will enable you to establish closer ties with the school and gain a better insight into your daughters’ development.

The NYGH-PSG is made up of an "Executive Committee" with many active "Sub-Committees".  These sub-committees organize and coordinate activities planned for the year.

The NYGH Parent Support Group does not collect joining or subscription fees from parents.

The NYGH-PSG recruits new parent volunteers at the annual Secondary One Parent Teacher Meeting (PTM), which is generally held on the second week of January in the new school year. On the average, between 150 & 250 Sec 1 parents sign up with the PSG with their contact details every year.

As active parent volunteers in the PSG, you will enjoy these benefits:
~ Free participation in most of the PSG-related activities throughout the year. Payment, if required, is at a subsidized rate.
~ Invitations to NYGH events, such as the Sec.1 Breakfast Meeting with the Principal, Teachers' Day Celebration, Chinese New Year Gathering and Founder's Day activities.
~ Quick access to information that concerns your daughter, as you will be linked to the PSG through your email address and sms contact.
~ Widen your network for social or work purposes.
