Internships Brooklyn Botanical Garden Provide hands-on experience training in a botanic garden with professionals. The Met Museum Based upon their academic training and interests, as well as the availability of projects, interns work in one of the Metropolitan's departments—curatorial, education, conservation, administration, or library. Guggenheim Museum The objective of the internship program is to - offer practical museum training experience to individuals interested in pursuing careers in the arts and museum field - gain a general knowledge and broad understanding of how a particular department functions within the context of a major museum as well as specific skills related to a particular department's activities Interns participate in the ongoing work of the department and complete specific projects or portions of larger departmental initiatives. MoCA Through the internship program, students gain practical experience in the day-to-day operations of a museum. MoMA The Internship Program gives interns in-depth exposure to the workings of individual departments and practical and theoretical training in museum practices, and acquaints them with the role of museums in contemporary society. Teen Resource Center The program aims to provide youths an opportunity to improve their life skills (public speaking, stress/time management, negotiation/communication skills) through service learning projects. Summer Internship Program in Biomedical Research The summer programs at the National Institutes of Health provides an opportunity for young adults who are interested biomedical research. They are able to work side by side with some of the leading scientists in the world. NY Botanical Garden NY Aquarium Learn the techniques scientists use to study animal behavior in the aquarium and in the wild, and practice those techniques with our collection. You”ll sharpen your observation skills, learn how to create an ethogram—a list of an animal’s behaviors—and how to use that list to collect data. This program is a great preparation for science projects about animal behavior.
