To become a member of the New York Chinese School Patrol, you must:
- Be 12 years of age or older for Fall & Spring semesters; be 11 years of age or older for Summer session
- Be a current student of New York Chinese School
- Have an average grade of 70% or higher
- Have a permission slip sign by his/her parents and teacher
Before becoming a part of NYCSP, students will be placed under a two-week probation period (one-week for summer) in which their performances will be judged by Patrol officers to determine whether or not they are suitable for the organization. If students pass the probation period, they will be officially inaugurated into Patrol to become a Patrolman. Every Patrolman is expected to adhere to the rules and regulations set by the Administrative Staff. If a Patrolman has outstanding performances, he/she will have the chance to be promoted to a higher position.
