This year marks the tenth anniversary of His Holiness the Dalai Lama's visit to Portland, Oregon.  As we continue to share our  tradition and culture with the greater Portland metropolitan area, this year we are excited to bring the Sera Lachi Monks who are on their 2011 World Peace Tour. Venerable Tritul Jampa Kalden (Gomde Tulku) will be accompanied with Geshes and monks who will create and demonstrate the Art of Sand Mandala.  You will witness the meticulous process of creating a sand mandala, its consecration and ultimately its dissolution into the river.

Entertainment will be provided by students of NWTCA’s Tibetan Studies Program and the artistic excellence of the former members of the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts.

Delicious Momos will be served among other items at our food booth and don't miss out on a wide range of colorful Tibetan Bazaar.

NWTCA requests everyone to come to Bhodkhang this Saturday (Jan 23rd) for a special prayers for the victims of Haiti Earthquake. The prayer will start at 5pm. Light refreshment and dinner will be served.

NWTCA has already started seeking donations for the Earthquake victims and we are in contact with Office of Tibet NYC, and urging them to collect donations from all the Tibetan associations in North America which OoT can send one big check on behalf of all the Tibetans to the victims of Haiti Earthquake. But if that doesn’t happen, due to whatever reasons, we will send our donations to charity organizations like Mercy Corp, Red Cross or US Aid. We are sure you all know the magnitude of the destruction in Haiti. So please show your generous self and donate as much as possible. Every dollar counts!!!
