Tibet Burning Presentation and Candlelight Vigil

(Regional Tibetan Youth Congress Portland-Vancouver  Students for a Free Tibet -Portland invites you) "TIBET BURNING:  #TsampaRevolution Presentation” When:  February 24th, Friday (3rd Day of No Losar) 3PM Sharp to 5:30PM Venue:  Portland State University Smith Memorial Building Room #236 1825 SW Broadway, Portland, Oregon 97201 Featuring: Jigme Ugen: Vice-President, SEIU Minnesota (former President of RTYC-MN). Jigme has been presenting ‘Tibet Burning’ at numerous universities across the country including Harvard and Stanford. Tibetans have begun to adopt the ultimate political tool to protest China's rule in Tibet. So far, 26 Tibetans have set fire to themselves for freedom. Tens of thousands of protestors are out on the streets. The Chinese military has killed over a dozen of peaceful Tibetans and has imposed lock-down. The discussion will focus in-depth on the unprecedented wave of self-immolations taking place in Tibet and provide more insight into how the Tibetan resistance and revolution is evolving.  Bring your curiosity and ideas to this discussion. ·         We will be doing Candlelight Virgil at Pioneer Square after the event 5.45 PM to 7.30PM March 10th Protest ·         We will gather at City Hall in downtown Portland at 10:30 am. ·         And then go around town, same route as last year. ·         Save the day for National Uprising day.
