Northwest Junior High Industrial Technology Department

Skills for Life and Work

The modern workplace requires a person who has not just the technological skills to do the job, but also generic workplace skills such as being able to work professionally with others to accomplish tasks that one person cannot do alone.

In the industrial technology department, students learn both specific technology skills and how to work in a job-like environment.

There are two classes offered in the Industrial Technology department at Northwest Junior High

Applied Technology is a required course all 8th graders in the school district.

Industrial Technology Workshop is an elective, available to 8th graders only. The course is repeatable, so a student could take the class both 1st and 3rd trimesters or any combination that fits into the student's schedule. Each trimester the students will work on different projects and use different tools and materials.
