The Making of Chapter 107...
I have been working with Dennis Reaume, one of the original members and former First Officer of Chapter 107, to recreate and present the history of the chapter.
The Chapter was originally opened by John "Mountain Man" Morgan in June of 2000 and was located in Fayetteville. The first meeting was held at Jose's in Fayetteville, and the chapter took off from there. It was very successful, with membership numbers at times in the 50's.
Another chapter was formed shortly afterwards, Chapter #222 in Bentonville. Both chapters coexisted and worked very well together for several years until membership and participation in both dropped. The Officers decided one should be closed and they should merge into one Northwest Arkansas chapter. The choice between whether it would be #107 or #222 was decided by a coin toss, and Bentonville Chapter #222 was closed forever.
Many rides took place, lots of fun was had, and long long long story short, here we are today. Chapter 107 has stood the test of time and has prevailed. June 2010 marked ten years of continuous operation and I am very proud to be a part of it today.
