Nick Veronin

Journalist | Musician | Nice Guy

Hi,

My name is Nick. I love writing, playing music and the great outdoors.

Most weekdays you can find me clutching a reporter's notepad, hunched over my laptop in a school board meeting or tapping out a story at my desk, which sits on the third floor of the Embarcadero Publishing building in Palo Alto, Calif.

I am a staff writer for the Mountain View Voice, where I cover education, health and crime. I also write features, obits, miscellaneous news and A&E.

Prior to my current reporting gig, I was an intern at Wired Magazine, a freelancer for The Good Times Weekly and The Palo Alto Weekly and one hell of a barista at a little company called Starbucks. I still pick up freelance assignments at The Good Times and Wired from time to time.

I studied journalism at San Jose State University, where I earned a bachelors degree with an emphasis in reporting and editing and a minor in humanities. I graduated cum laude and dean’s scholar.

I have a keen interest in literature, art, technology, social issues and philosophy.

I look forward to meeting you some day.

Best,

Nick Veronin
